March Concerts CANCELLED

To comply with the latest policy established by the California Department of Public Health for gatherings of 250 or more, we have made the decision to cancel our March concerts. As eager as we are to share this music with you, we fully recognize that helping to minimize the impact of the Coronavirus on the greater community takes precedence.

Our international prizewinning friends, Men in Blaque (Joseph Huszti, Artistic Director), join us for a concert of works by one of the greatest of the Romantic masters: the sublime Johannes Brahms, whose mastery of intricate craft and profound emotion have made his music soul food for singers and listeners around the world. (Modernist composer Elliott Carter famously said of his student days, “We had to write choral pieces in the style of Brahms….which was distressing because in the end you realized how good Brahms is, and how bad you are.”) Come enjoy some of his best-loved works—sacred and secular, accompanied and a cappella, cheerful and poignant.
