Tickets and Subscriptions
May I exchange my tickets?
As a season ticket subscriber, you may exchange your ticket for the other performance of the same program by contacting [email protected] by Friday before the performance weekend (24 – 48 hours before the performance). Single ticket holders may not exchange their tickets.
May I get a tax credit for unused tickets?
If you are unable to attend the planned performance, you may donate your tickets by contacting [email protected] no later than 24 hours prior to the performance to make the donation. A tax receipt for the cash value of the tickets will be subsequently provided.
What if I lose my tickets?
Subscribers will receive an email three days prior to the performances which will include a link to their tickets. Patrons who misplace their tickets may arrange for reprints by contacting [email protected] to request a resend of their confirmation email.
May I get a refund if I can’t see the show after all?
Unfortunately, no. All sales are final, and no refunds are available.
How do I get seating priority?
Seating for OCWC performances is general admission, unassigned seating. If you have a particular seating preference, it’s best to arrive when the doors open to patrons, approximately 30 minutes before each performance.
Late Arrivals
Late Arrivals
What if I arrive late to my performance or leave my seat during a performance?
We work hard to provide you with the best choral performance experience. To cause the least disruption, patrons who have not entered the venue when the performance begins will be asked to wait in the lobby until an appropriate break in the performance—this is for the benefit of other audience members and the performers. You will generally be allowed to enter after the end of the work being performed, and you will be assisted at the door by our ushers. OCWC accepts no liability for inconvenience.
Children
Children
May I bring my kids?
Yes! We love to inspire the next generation of choral singers. But we do have a few things you should know. Without exception, each audience member occupying a seat in the venue (kids, included) must have a ticket to be admitted. Regardless of age, everyone must have a ticket, sit in a seat and be able to sit quietly through the performance. Our performances are usually best for children ages six and up—but you know your child best. At our Huntington Beach venue, St. Wilfrid of York Episcopal Church, there is a children’s room available for you to stay with your younger children. Windows into the sanctuary will allow you to see the performance, and there are toys available to occupy the children. We make every effort to have sound available in this room, but that is not always possible. Patrons who view the concert from this room are required to have a ticket themselves, but need not have tickets for each child with them.
Does my child need a ticket?
Yes. Regardless of age, everyone in the venue must have a ticket, sit in a seat and be able to sit quietly through the performance. However, patrons who view the concert from the children’s room (if available) are required to have a ticket themselves, but need not have tickets for each child with them.
Cell Phones and Photography
Cell Phones and Photography
Do I have to turn off my cell phone during the performance?
Yes. It’s a courtesy to other patrons and to the performers on stage. We ask that you silence your ring tone and notifications or turn off ALL electronic devices (e.g. phones, tablets). Please do not text during a performance. Also, audio or video recording of any during a performance is not allowed as the music is copyrighted material. The OCWC employs professional photographers and videographers, and obtains appropriate licensing to share recordings.
May I take photographs?
We love to see our audience members share their fun on social media! We encourage you to take photos, check in on Facebook, and share stories on Instagram at any time except when the singers are performing. To avoid distracting the singers or other patrons, we request that cell phones be silenced and put away during the performance. The OCWC employs professional photographers and videographers, and obtains appropriate licensing to share recordings.
Health and Safety Protocols
Health and Safety Protocols
Our top priority is the health and safety of our performers, volunteers, patrons, and community. “Community” is one of our core values, and we believe we have a responsibility to protect one another.
We respect your choices and encourage you to take the necessary precautions to ensure your safety—and your enjoyment. We ask all audience members to respect each other’s choices, also.
We will continue to be guided by science, and will update these policies, when necessary, based upon local, state, and federal guidelines and recommendations.
If you are feeling ill on the day of the performance, please stay home. Please contact us at [email protected] to exchange your ticket for the next day (if you are a subscriber) or to convert it to a tax-deductible donation.
Accessibility
Accessibility
Are your venues wheelchair accessible?
We do offer seating for patrons who utilize wheelchairs. Please plan to arrive when the venue opens to patrons (approximately 30 minutes before performances) and notify the onsite House Manager of your arrival. Our ushers may assist you. If you would like us to be aware that you may need seating assistance, please contact us at [email protected].
I have a service animal to assist me. May I have it accompany me when I come to see a show?
YES! All certified service animals are welcome at OCWC performances. Animals must be wearing service-identification gear. Special seating arrangements may be made in advance by contacting [email protected].
What do I do if I need special seating arrangements?
We request that you make special seating arrangements with us in advance. For more information, contact us at [email protected].

What time does the lobby open before a performance?
The lobby opens thirty minutes before each performance.
Do you have a dress code?
No! Concerts are meant to be fun social occasions, and you should feel free to wear what makes you feel comfortable. Concert patrons wear a variety of attire, ranging from casual business apparel to jeans and leather jackets.
How long is a concert?
We typically perform without an intermission, and most programs average about 90 minutes.
Will I recognize the music?
Unless we’re collaborating with some of our best men friends to perform a major masterwork—Haydn’s Creation, the Lord Nelson Mass, and the Mozart Requiem come to mind—the answer is “probably not!” One of the joys of what we do is the opportunity to share music you’ve never heard before.
Do I have to know the music before I attend the concert?
Not at all! We love introducing new music to you, and our Artistic Director, Eliza Rubenstein, and Assistant Director, Sarah Hughes, both excel at sharing the background of the pieces they’ve chosen for us to perform.
When should I clap?
Along with the “what to wear” question, this is probably one of the most voiced concerns we get from new concertgoers. Ultimately, it’s not a big deal and you should not let your fear of clapping at the “wrong” time stop you from enjoying a concert. Rest assured, there are other first-timers at every concert, and everyone was in your shoes at some point.
In general, we clap to welcome performers to the stage; to show appreciation at the conclusion of each piece; and at the end of the performance. In longer works made up of multiple movements, it is appropriate to hold your clapping until the end of the complete work. Your printed program will identify the movements in this case. Nevertheless, you should clap when you’re moved to do so—and don’t worry about it being the “wrong” time!
Food and Drink
Food and Drink
May I have food and drink in the venue when I watch the concert?
Our venues do not permit food or drink to be consumed in the sanctuaries. You are cordially invited to join us after the performance in the adjacent halls for refreshments at our post-concert receptions.
Volunteering
Volunteering
I’m interested in volunteering as an usher—what do I need to do?
Fantastic! We’re always looking for new volunteers, as ushers and in other capacities. You may complete our Volunteer Interest Form or email our Board member for Operations and Technology, Alec Waters, at [email protected].
