Stephanie FederAbout the composer: Stephanie Feder has been a member of OCWC since 2005, serving as Conducting Intern for her first two years with the chorus. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Northwestern University School of Music in Vocal Performance and Choral Music Education and holds the Master of Fine Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of California, Irvine. First leaving Chicago for the Bay Area, Ms. Feder served as Assistant Conductor of the San Francisco Bach Choir for several years before moving to Italy to teach and study in Siena and Florence. Currently she holds positions as Artistic Director of the San Clemente Choral Society, Choir Director at Congregation Shir Ha'ma-alot in Irvine, and Director of Music Ministry at St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea United Methodist Church in San Clemente. Ms. Feder has taught Italian, Diction, Music History, and Music Theater Techniques to students in the Musical Theater and Opera & Choral Conservatories of the Orange County High School of the Arts and has been teaching at UC Irvine and working on a grant project with colleagues at the Center for Learning through the Arts. Passionate about conducting, composing, performing and teaching, she also possesses a fondness for adventure and travel, having independently explored such remote places as Australia, New Zealand, and most recently, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia! Ms. Feder currently resides in Huntington Beach.
